Springs

Unlike shock absorbers, in this case the viscous frictions are very small. Only the surface frictions remain the same. The principle is the same as for the piston-type shock absorber, the only difference being the plunger/reservoir clearance which, being larger, ensures the dominance of the compressibility characteristic of the elastomer over its viscosity.

The piston velocity has virtually no influence; very little difference can be noticed between static and dynamic operation.

Springs

  • - Extremely compact.
  • - Dependable retention of initial characteristics, even after years of non-use.
  • - Easy installation.
  • - No maintenance.
  • - No adjustment necessary in service.
  • - Elimination of any additional devices for pre-loading because the silicone has   been pre-stressed during initial charging.
  • - Appreciable service life: in normal operating conditions it may reach 5 to 10   years.
